Yearly upkeep: scheduled maintenance by the year
Enter up to six services from your schedule with their intervals and what each visit costs you. The calculator counts visits a year, whichever interval comes first, and totals the year.
Assumptions behind the numbers
- Visits a year are the larger of miles a year divided by the interval miles and 12 divided by the interval months. That is the whichever-comes-first rule: the more frequent interval sets the pace.
- A blank interval is ignored, so a miles-only item uses miles and a time-only item uses months. A row with neither is skipped.
- Costs are what you enter: your own invoices or written quotes. The calculator has no prices of its own.
- This covers scheduled maintenance only. Repairs, tires, wear items such as brake pads, and fees not on your quotes are not in it.
- Published averages from AAA and the Department of Energy rest on different cars and assumptions; Your maintenance schedule and Hybrids and electric cars give them with their conditions.
Limits
The total is your schedule at your prices, under the miles a year you entered. It is not a forecast of what the car will cost: repairs, tires and wear items are not in it, and a published average describes other cars under other assumptions. It gives no advice on whether to keep, repair or replace a car.
